Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

This 8-Week class of mindfulness training is modeled after the internationally acclaimed program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Mindfulness is a way of intentionally paying attention to the present moment with non-judgmental awareness, allowing for greater coping, growing, and healing. During the eight week course, you will be provided with:

  • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation

  • Mindful yoga (gentle stretching)

  • Group dialogue and discussions to increase awareness in daily life

  • Daily home assignments

  • Home practice guided meditation recordings and a workbook

  • An All-Day retreat between the 6th and 7th week.

Decades of scientific research suggest that MBSR participants have a long lasting ability to experience a reduction in psychological distress and physical pain while learning to live life more fully.
